Forest School - Summerhill School and Group activities

Activity
Forest School
Overview

Discover the magic of outdoor learning at Summerhill’s Forest School. Set within our 100-acre Country Park, sessions run all year round and give children the chance to learn, play, and grow in a natural woodland environment.

Why Forest School?
Play is essential for a child’s development, yet many children today have fewer opportunities to explore outdoors. Our Forest School sessions reconnect learners with nature, helping them build confidence, resilience, and creativity.

What to expect:

  • Activities are introduced through small, achievable tasks.
  • Children learn boundaries, teamwork, and problem-solving.
  • Sessions foster independence and self-esteem while developing an understanding of the natural world.

Curriculum links:
Each two-hour session can include:

  • Literacy and Numeracy
  • Shapes, Spaces and Measures
  • Plants and Animals
  • Exploring Materials and Media
  • Imagination and Creativity

We offer a standard programme and can tailor sessions to meet your school’s needs.
