The Councils Active Hartlepool services are seeking highly motivated Lead Casual Sport Coaches and Instructors to join the growing team.

We are currently recruiting coaches and instructors of various disciplines e.g. multi-sport coaches, fitness coaches, dance instructors and swimming instructors. Hartlepool Borough Council's Active Hartlepool service has established a strong positive reputation for quality of service, in providing a pro-active approach designed to facilitate and promote high quality sport and physical activity provision.

To be successful, you will need to possess a National Governing Body Level 2 or equivalent, show excellent communication skills and be able to support the planning, delivery and evaluation of sessions.

Hartlepool Borough Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

Beach Lifeguard Supervisors

We are looking to recruit a number of enthusiastic and committed seasonal Beach Lifeguard Supervisors who will be welcomed by our experienced Beach Lifeguard Team. We provide beach safety advice, observation and supervision of beach users on the towns lifeguard patrolled beaches during the school summer holidays, including weekends.

Whilst on duty it is essential that you remain alert and professional at all times in order to provide constant surveillance of all activities in the lifeguard patrolled zone and adjacent areas of the beach. In the event of an emergency, you will need to be relied on, be able to remain calm, manage the situation with confidence and be capable of correctly administering any necessary first aid treatment.

Beach Lifeguard Supervisors are required to supervise the Beach Lifeguards on duty and ensuring the delivery of a beach lifeguard service to the highest of standards. Supervisors need to be good communicators and be able to liaise with the emergency services, such as the UK Coastguard.

Beach lifeguards need to be physically fit to fulfil the role and assessment criteria, this includes good swimming ability. Candidates must hold a current Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS) National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification. To demonstrate good swimming ability, you will be required to undertake a pool swim of 400 metres, which must be achieved in 8 minutes or under.
